Health and Safety

At the Black Theatre Troupe, the health and well-being of our patrons and their comfort while attending our theatre is our top priority. We anticipate that the number of patrons vaccinated before the start of our season, will steadily increase over the summer. However we still understand that some patrons may possibly still experience lingering concerns and uncertainties.

In an effort to help our audiences relax and enjoy themselves BTT like all arts organizations and places serving the public, have implemented new policies in addition to our already robust and rigorous cleaning procedures. The only thing we want you to think about when you’re at the Black Theatre is what a great time you’re having.

These are our usual procedures as well as some additional steps we are taking to assure that you can enjoy yourselves:

  • There is hand sanitizer in the lobby outside the auditorium doors.

  • There are reminders in our public and employee restrooms from The Arizona Department of Health Services as well as the CDC about healthy handwashing habits.

  • Our maintenance staff will continue to vigorously disinfect and frequently wipe down all hard and frequently touched surfaces, such as door handles and arm rests on your chairs.

Our concession staff and volunteers have always worn gloves as they serve you.

As the best practices and policies by our regional and national health officials are updated or revised we will immediately implement those recommendations.

We must all help protect ourselves and each other by doing the things we already know to be important and effective.

The most important practice and guideline is that they must wear masks in the public areas of the facility.

Also please know that we will be operating at full capacity. Meaning that there will be other patrons in front of and behind and to your right and left.

As the country begins to reopen, live events may look a little different than what we’re used to, but we truly believe that the power and electric feeling of excitement and connection you experience at Black Theatre Troupe will always remain.

Although we completely trust our nation’s guidelines, we want to do whatever we can to address any of your concerns to help make you feel the confidence we have in the safety of our facility.
