The Target Family Matinee

FOR 38 YEARS, The Black Theatre Troupe has promoted excellence in the performing arts. Born in a storefront in 1970, our company has now moved to the forefront of Valley theatre.

This season we have selected five stories that have the power to unite all of us by showing the commonality of all people, regardless of their ethnicity. Five stories that will weave together reflections on life's difficult journeys, the strength of hands joined together for  change, musical treasures that defined a generation, the  enduring

force of respect and friendship and the hopes and aspirations of the family of man.

You can't afford to pass up an invitation to our 2007-2008 season!

Thanks to the generosity of Target and The Target Family Matinee Series, this is the perfect season for the entire family to experience some of the most extraordinary and powerful theatre in the four corner states.

Now is the best time to select a ticket package of any three or more plays.

But it is only fair to warn you: With a season that features three regional premieres and two acclaimed Valley favorites in stunning new productions with The Black Theatre Troupe’s indelible signature, you’ll have a hard time choosing only three.

The arts bring communities together and make all of us a family by creating experiences that cross cultures, inspire ideas for the future and enrich life today. So become a part of the BTT family as we continue our mission of presenting work that is vital to the Phoenix area and its increasingly diverse citizenry.

With the strong support of the community over the years, The Black Theatre Troupe has become one of the cultural treasures of the Valley. We are committed to revealing the multicultural experiences of our shared humanity from the stages of the beautiful Herberger Theater Center and the John Paul Theater. We have made that commitment because we believe that the 5th largest city in the United States must reflect
the diversity of its citizens.

Come join our family.
